The Nets were in a rough patch, but fortunately, they faced an opponent going through the worst stretch in a decade. Brooklyn ended their five-game losing streak with a 126-115 victory against the struggling Pistons.
The Pistons’ 26th consecutive loss ties the record for the most losses in a single season, previously held by the 2010-11 Cavaliers and the 2013-14 76ers.
Although the Nets’ win on Saturday might have some nuances, with old friends Bogdanovic and Harris not making a significant impact, they have a chance to push the Pistons further into unprecedented territory in their upcoming match on Tuesday.
“The main concern is us winning a basketball game,” head coach Jacque Vaughn said before the game, ignoring his opponent’s flirtation with inglorious history.
“I got too much respect for the teams and the players in this league to look beyond that.”
