NBA DFS: Kyrie Irving and best FanDuel, DraftKings daily Fantasy basketball picks for April 5, 2022

No NBA games took place on Monday, as the league annually goes dark on the day of the NCAA Tournament Title Game. But 24 teams will be in action on Tuesday, giving it one of the more robust NBA DFS player pools in recent memory. All of the top MVP candidates will be in action as Joel Embiid’s Sixers take on the Pacers, Giannis Antetokounmpo and the Bucks travel to Chicago, and Nikola Jokic’s Nuggets host the Spurs. But will their Fantasy production match their expensive NBA DFS price tags on sites like FanDuel and DraftKings?

That’s something that every daily Fantasy basketball player must consider when crafting their NBA DFS lineups. Whenever you splurge on these big-name, highly-priced superstars, you are expecting a proper return on investment. Does one of the three have better prospects for Tuesday, or is one of them someone to avoid tonight? Before submitting your NBA DFS lineups for Tuesday, be sure to check out the NBA DFS advice, player rankings, stacks and top daily Fantasy basketball picks from SportsLine’s Mike McClure.

McClure is a DFS professional with nearly $2 million in career winnings. He’s also a predictive data engineer at SportsLine who uses a powerful prediction model that simulates every minute of every game 10,000 times, taking factors like matchups, statistical trends and injuries into account.

This allows him to find the best NBA DFS values and create optimal lineups that he shares only over at SportsLine. They’re a must-see for any NBA DFS player.

On Sunday, McClure listed Warriors guard Jordan Poole in his top NBA DFS picks on both DraftKings and FanDuel. The result: Poole scored 22 points to go with five rebounds and four assists to return 37.75 points on DraftKings and 34.5 points on FanDuel. Anybody that included them in their lineups was well on the way to a profitable day.

Now, McClure has turned his attention to the Tuesday, April 5, NBA DFS slate and locked in his top daily Fantasy basketball picks. You can only see them by heading to SportsLine.

Top NBA DFS picks for Tuesday, April 5

One of McClure’s top NBA DFS picks for Tuesday includes rostering Nets guard Kyrie Irving at $10,600 on DraftKings and $9,000 on FanDuel. After an off-night in his first home game of the season, Irving bounced back in his next two games in Brooklyn by dropping 24 on the Pistons followed by 25 on the Bucks. Irving’s last game was a road contest versus the Hawks where his 31 points was barely noticed with Kevin Durant putting up 55 in the same contest.

Irving gets to return home tonight and gets a dream matchup versus the team with the worst record in the NBA in the Houston Rockets. Houston ranks dead last in points allowed this season and no position has victimized the team more so than the point guard position. The Rockets have allowed the most Fantasy points to opposing PGs on both FanDuel and DraftKings, so you can see why McClure is high on Irving for Tuesday.

Another part of McClure’s optimal NBA DFS strategy includes rostering Spurs guard Tre Jones ($4,000 on DraftKings and $3,700 on DanDuel). Jones should get the start at the point tonight with Dejounte Murray (illness) unavailable. Very few can fill the box score quite like Murray, but Jones has provided solid production in his eight starts this year, averaging 13.3 points, 7.3 assists, 5.0 rebounds and shooting over 50 percent from the floor.

The former Blue Devil is coming off arguably the best game of his career on Sunday as he put up an 18-7-7 stat line versus the Blazers. Tuesday’s opponent is Denver and Jones had a similar stat-stuffing performance when he saw the Nuggets in December. In that game, he came off the bench to post 12 points, nine rebounds and five assists while playing less than half the game. Jones should see well over 30 minutes tonight and is an absolute steal for NBA DFS lineups.

How to set your NBA DFS lineups for Tuesday, April 5

McClure is also targeting a player who could go off for massive numbers on Tuesday because of a dream matchup. This pick could be the difference between winning your tournaments and cash games or going home with nothing. You can only see who it is here.
