We’re just a few weeks away from the Celtics’ first NBA Cup game of the season. In the tournament’s inaugural run last year, each team was cursed with a horrid court design to accompany the (mostly) heinous set of City Edition uniforms they were given to wear.

This season, the league has taken a slightly different approach. The courts will now be designed to coincide with each organization’s “Statement Edition” jerseys, which more closely represent their normal branding, according to The Washington Post.
So, instead of playing on a court that looks like it was designed for the Milwaukee Bucks, the Cs will have a Kelly green floor with “Celtics” written in black text at center court. There will also be parquet designs throughout, which was something that last year’s court lacked, much to the frustration of the fanbase.

Celtics fans should be thankful that the NBA decided to stray away from using the City Edition jerseys as inspiration for these courts. Had they not, we all would’ve been subjected to two hours of staring at a neon-green eyesore.
The new court will be debuted on Nov. 12, when the Cs host the Atlanta Hawks to open up the tournament’s group stage. Along with Atlanta, Boston will be competing against the Chicago Bulls, Cleveland Cavaliers, and Washington Wizards in the Eastern Conference’s Group C.
