In Boston’s 134-101 blowout win against the Spurs, the Celtics put on a slam dunk contest-level show at Frost Bank Center. Slam Hauser got up for one. Luke Kornet had two alley–oops.
But in a mad rush to make the final 2023 highlight reel, it was this three-play run in just over a minute in the third quarter that takes the cake.
Against Victor Wembanyama, the league leader in block shots, the Celtics registered ten dunks against the Spurs, none louder than this DWhite dunk from Jaylen Brown. In a reversal of roles, it was JB jumping the passing lane for the turnover and Derrick finishing with a monster dunk. White would finish the game with 17 points and five assists in his San Antonion homecoming.
On the ensuing offensive possession, it was Jayson Tatum dishing one of his two assists to Kristaps Porzingis in the paint for a two-handed power slam. After missing the comeback win vs. the Raptors on the backend of a back-to-back, KP scored 14 points and pulled down nine rebounds.
Finally, after forcing another turnover, Brown picked up the loose ball for a breakaway exclamation point on an efficient night (24 point son 9-of-13 shooting with six rebounds and three assists).
