Golden State Warriors added another player in the health and safety protocols, the team announced Friday. The first-year player Moses Moody will not be available for the game against the Phoenix Suns on Christmas Day.
The rookie joins Damion Lee, Andrew Wiggins and Jordan Poole, who land in the protocols during last week. All four players will miss the game against the league-leading Suns.
Moody was expected to have an increased role with Damion Lee and Jordan Poole out. The rookie out of Arkansas has played in 22 games for Golden State. He remained for 11 minutes on the floor in the win over the Grizzlies.
At the top of that, Andre Iguodala is considered questionable. The Warriors are coming off a strong performance vs the Memphis Grizzlies Thursday.
Stephen Curry needed to take over as the shorthanded Warriors faced a pesky Memphis team. Curry finished the game with 46 points.
The Suns are one of the less affected teams amidst a COVID-19 outbreak in the NBA. Dario Saric remained the only player, who is constantly out since the start of the season, recovering from a torn ACL.
Curry will have to have a similar performance for the Warriors to have any chance to win today. The Suns and Warriors have split the first two games of the season between them.
