Detroit Pistons head coach Monty Williams has been impressed with rookie guard Marcus Sasser (19 points/2 rebounds/3 assists/1 steal/6-10 FG/5-8 3-PT/2-2 FT in last night’s 125-116 road loss vs. the New Orleans Pelicans).
(via Bally Sports Detroit):
Johnny Kane: “Marcus Sasser’s a guy that you talked about before the game, he had a big hand in your comeback effort tonight. What did he provide for you guys?”
Williams: “He spaces the right way when he’s off the ball. He’s not afraid to take big shots. Defensively, he just battles. He’s starting to look like a good complement to Cade [Cunningham] and Killian [Hayes], those three guys played well together tonight. So, it’s something that we need to grow. Obviously it’s a work in progress, but we like what he brings. When he has the ball, he gets us organized. When he doesn’t have the ball, he knows how to space and cut and all the stuff we like to do.”
