Montrezl Harrell Agrees to 2-Year Deal With Sixers

Seven-year veteran Montrezl Harrell agreed to a two-year deal with the Philadelphia 76ers, per a report by ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski.

“Free agent C Montrezl Harrell is signing two-year deal with the Philadelphia 76ers, including a player option,” Wojnarowski tweeted Tuesday afternoon.

The deal is worth a reported $5.2 million.

The 28-year-old Harrell started last season with the Washington Wizards before finishing with the Charlotte Hornets.

He averaged 13.1 points, 2.0 assists, and 6.1 rebounds for the season.

Harrell had his best season averaging 18.6 points, 1.7 assists, and 7.1 rebounds and winning Sixth Man of the Year in 2019-20 under coach Doc Rivers as a member of the LA Clippers.

The 6-foot-7 power forward/center rejoins Doc in Philly and former Houston teammate James Harden.

The Sixers lost to the Miami Heat in last season’s Eastern Conference semifinals after finishing fourth in the East with a 51-31 record.

During the offseason, Harrell was charged with marijuana trafficking in Madison County (KY).

That charge was reduced to misdemeanor possession, and the charged will be expunged from Harrell’s record after 12 months if Harrell gets in no further legal trouble.
