The Dallas Mavericks blew out the Phoenix Suns 113-86 on Thursday night to force a game seven in the Western Conference Semifinals series.
“I don’t care about stats as long as we win,” Mavericks’ star Luka Doncic – who had 33 points, 11 rebounds, eight assists, four steals, and one turnover on 11-26 shooting from the field – said after the game, via ESPN.
“If we win, I’m good. The statistics don’t really matter to me, but if we win, it’s going to be amazing. I think we won this game on the defensive end, and we’ve got another game.”
The Mavericks forced 22 turnovers; eight of which were committed by Suns’ star Devin Booker.
Deandre Ayton led all Suns’ scorers with 21 points on 10-16 shooting.
“It’s got to be a together thing where everybody is on the same page,” Ayton said.
“And it wasn’t like that tonight. There were a lot of mistakes. It felt like a regular-season game, the amount of mistakes we had today. The turnovers, terrible, unacceptable. It was that type of game where it was just unacceptable man. Them dudes – they wanted it more.”
The Mavericks and Suns will face off in game 7 at a time to be decided, depending on the results of the remaining games.
