Due to the ongoing circumstances in Israel, the Euroleague had to relocate the Valencia Basket versus Maccabi Tel Aviv match scheduled for this Wednesday, October 18, outside of Israel.
Despite the change in venue, the game is still set to take place.
Initially slated for Tel Aviv, the Spanish Ministry of the Interior further heightened concerns by categorizing the encounter as “high risk” in their statement:
The Permanent Commission of the State Commission against Violence, Racism, Xenophobia and Intolerance in Sports has agreed to declare it high risk the first leg of the basketball Euroleague between Valencia Basket and Maccabi Tel Aviv, which will be played next Wednesday, October 18, at 8:30 p.m. in Valencia.
Nonetheless, the game is secure and will proceed as planned, as assured by the Euroleague to the local media outlet “Las Provincias,” albeit with the implementation of special security precautions.
