Dallas Mavericks’ superstar Luka Doncic is thrilled to welcome Daniel Gafford to the team following his recent acquisition from the Washington Wizards at the trade deadline.
Gafford, the 25-year-old center, made an immediate impact in his Mavericks debut with 19 points and nine rebounds in just 17 minutes of play off the bench. His strong performance contributed to the Mavericks’ dominant victory over the Oklahoma City Thunder.
Expressing his excitement about Gafford’s arrival, Doncic praised the newcomer’s abilities, highlighting his similarities to rookie Dereck Lively II.
Doncic emphasized Gafford’s contributions in areas such as rebounding, shot-blocking, and high-energy plays, stating, “To have those two on the team is unbelievable to me. Rebounding, blocking shots, dunking, the energy. He brings a lot and I’m happy he’s on our team,” as reported by Eddie Sefko.
The addition of Gafford strengthens the Mavericks’ frontcourt depth and provides valuable support to Doncic and the rest of the roster as they pursue success in the competitive Western Conference.
