James said, “I want to buy a team, for sure. I want a team in Vegas. I want the team in Vegas.”
Las Vegas has frequently been mentioned as a possible expansion site, if and when the NBA chooses to add teams. Seattle is the only city firmly considered to be ahead of Las Vegas on the list of possible expansion cities.
Las Vegas is home to the Golden Knights of the NHL, the Raiders of the NFL and the Aces of the WNBA. City leaders have openly campaigned to add an NBA to the mix and local investors are reportedly planning to build a new arena to further that goal.
