LeBron James Reacts to Emphatic Lakers Win

The Lakers left it all out the court in Game 6 and beat the Grizzlies 125-85 to enter the second round and LeBron James couldn’t be more proud.

After the game, he said he wanted to “change the narrative” around what the franchise was going through before he arrived in the 2018-19 season ie missing the postseason and being a lottery team.

Lakers coach Darvin Ham told the media after the game that he’s been around greatness and other elite players, like Kobe Bryant and Giannis Antetokounmpo, but he said he’s “never seen anything like it” in reference to King James.

“All I was thinking about was trying to sleep as much as I could, get as much rest as I could. … I felt pretty good when I woke up this morning. I felt excellent this morning,” LeBron said of his mentality after Game 5 heading into Game 6.

The sleep must have done the great man some good because he had 22 points, five rebounds and six assists and a steal.

“My son Bryce had an AAU game….watching him going out there and performing…it kept me young tonight,” James said.

Austin Reaves was asked if LeBron seems like he’s 38 years old and he answered with: “He honestly seems like about 18. He acts like about 18. He’s very childish in a great way.”

James had a fantastic supporting cast in the 40-point win as D’Angelo Russell enjoyed a playoff career-high 31 points on 12-17 from the field, Anthony Davis had 16 points, 14 rebounds and five blocks and Reaves had 11 points, six rebounds and eight assists.

Reaves said if he had to describe this LA team using one word it would be “together.”

The Lakers defense in Game 6 was so solid that their opponents only made 30.2 percent of their shots.

“Every possession, we played on our toes, not on our heels,” Ham said. “This thing is just getting started.”

“It’s good to win the series but the job’s not finished,” Reaves said.
