Shannon Sharpe is a one, proud LeBron James fan, and his unwavering support can’t even get a warmer return and appreciation from the future basketball hall of famer.
In the postgame of the Memphis Grizzlies-Los Angeles Lakers, James was asked about his sentiments on Sharpe’s presence at the sidelines of Crypto.com Arena on the said marquee Friday duel.
“I mean, I ride with Shannon for 365 days, 366 on a leap year, 24/7,” James said of Sharpe, per Jovan Buha of the Athletic. “So, that’s my guy. So I’ll always have his back, and he’s got mine. He can talk with the best of them, for sure.”
This comment by James was also rooted from the fact that the ex-NFL superstar fought for him in a heated dispute and trash talk against Tee Morant, Dillon Brooks, Steven Adams and the Grizzlies team at the conclusion of the first half. The altercation was eventually halted with both Sharpe and the elder Morant quickly patching up their misunderstanding.
Sharpe, a Pro Football Hall of Famer and renowned Denver Broncos legend, is currently an analyst for Fox Sports and co-hosting Skip and Shannon: Undispute with Skip Bayless. The two share a heated rivalry in discussions regarding the four-time league MVP, with the die-hard fan in Sharpe frequently clashing against Bayless, a notorious James hater.
James helped the Lakers escape against the Grizzlies in crunch time, 122-121. Registering 23 points, he is now just 261 points away from surpassing the great Kareem Abdul-Jabbar to become the NBA’s all-time leader in points made.
