LeBron James will face the Warriors in the playoffs for the first time since the 2018 NBA season when the Dubs defeated the Cavaliers in the Finals.
This time James is on the Lakers. Ahead of Game 1 of the Western Conference Semifinals against Golden State, the four-time NBA champion talked about the matchup.
“You got to be super duper locked in,” James said about facing the Warriors. “You can’t make a mistake. Just can’t. You can’t make a mistake. They’ll make you pay. It’s that simple.
“Some teams I’ve played in my career that’s had that notion on you and they’re one of them. They’re right there at the top along with some of those great San Antonio Spurs teams. If you make a mistake, they make you pay. It’s that simple. So we got to be locked in.
“They are already doing a great job of scoring anyways. Even when you got a body on top of them, you’ve seen some of the routine shots Steph was making in Game 7 with everybody going crazy. But that’s just Steph. You’re that great, you make tough shots like this. We got to be locked and not hurt ourselves.”
