During the game against the Lakers, Rockets’ rookie Jabari Smith Jr. reminded LeBron James that he played his first NBA game against Smith’s dad who was then with the Kings.
James, who is playing his 20th year in the league, talked about Smith’s comment after the game, saying that it made his feel extremely old.
“It made me feel extremely old when Jr. told me that,” the 38-year-old superstar said. “I think he said like ‘Bron you feel old’ or something in that context.
“Like I said postgame, I just been extremely blessed to be able to play this game and touch multiple generations. Kenyon Martin Jr. was out on the court today. I played against his dad. Gary Trent Sr., I played him, his son now in Toronto. Gary Payton and his son.
“It’s just unique thing that I’ve been able to withstand the test of time or as long as I’ve been able to compete versus father and son combinations.”
LeBron finished the game against the Rockets with 48 points, 8 rebounds and 9 assists. This season James is averaging 29.2 points, 8.4 rebounds and 6.9 assists in 36.2 minutes per game.
