LeBron James, Lakers Agree To Two-Year, $97.1M Extension

LeBron James and the Los Angeles Lakers have agreed to a two-year, $97.1 million extension.

The deal includes a 15 percent trade kicker and includes a player option for the 24-25 season.

James had been due to enter the final season of his contract with the Lakers at $44.5 million.

With the extension, James passes Kevin Durant to become the highest earning player in NBA history with $532M in guaranteed money.

There were not teams with potential cap space during the 2023 offseason that would have interested James.
