LeBron James addressed recent trade rumors linking him to the Golden State Warriors, offering insights into the reported speculation.
Following reports of the Warriors’ interest in acquiring James at the trade deadline, the Lakers star shed light on his knowledge of the situation during an appearance on TNT’s Inside The NBA.
“It didn’t go far at all,” James said. “I actually heard about it when everybody else heard about it. Charles [Barkley] been in the league, Kenny [Smith] been in the league, Shaq been in the league and sometimes there’s conversations happen behind closed doors that you don’t even know about and until, I guess, if it’s real or not, then they’ll bring it to you. But it never even got to me. So I heard it when the reports dropped as well.”
James’s response indicates that the discussions between the Lakers and the Warriors regarding a potential trade did not progress beyond initial speculation.
While addressing the rumors, James refrained from commenting on whether he would entertain the idea of joining the Golden State franchise.
