Larry Nance Jr. is expected to undergo surgery on his right knee on Friday.
The New Orleans Pelicans acquired Nance as part of the CJ McCollum trade on Tuesday.
Nance injured his right knee while jumping for a layup in the third quarter of a Jan. 5 game against the Miami Heat. Nance had an MRI, which showed “no significant damage,” the Trail Blazers announced Jan. 6. Their initial plan was for Nance to be reevaluated in one week.
Nance is owed $9.7 million next season.
