Lakers forward Anthony Davis left Game 5 late in the fourth quarter with a concussion and his coach Darvin Ham has provided an update.
Davis suffered a concussion and was escorted out of the Chase Center in a wheelchair, according to NBA Insider Chris Haynes.
Haynes is reporting from Chase Center that he has avoided a concussion and seems to be doing much better.
The big man got elbowed in the face by Kevon Looney as he went up for D’Angelo Russell’s rebound. The refs didn’t call it a foul.

Ham was asked about Davis after the Lakers’ 121-106 loss and he gave a simple answer.
“Obviously everyone saw he took a shot to the head but I just checked in on him,” Ham said. “He seems to be doing really good already. That’s just where it’s at. That’s the status of it right now.”
After the hit to the head, Davis sat on the bench for a few minutes and looked as though his vision was affected. He was then taken back to the locker room to be assessed.

Lakers shooter Austin Reaves was asked about Davis’ status for Game 6 and his response was: “I believe he’ll play.”
Davis’ status for Game 6 depends on whether or not he has suffered a concussion.
The NBA Concussion Policy is pretty much a case-by-case and was created “under the core principle that each concussion, and each athlete, is unique.”
LA fans are understandably upset that Davis may be in jeopardy for Game 6 on their home court.
Crazy part is Looney suffers no penalty for recklessly swinging his fucking elbows like he’s not a coordinated professional athlete. No flagrant. No foul. No suspension. Just likely a front line with no Anthony Davis. Didn’t he black Sabonis’ eye last series? Fuckin goofy.

With or without Davis, the purple and gold will look to bring the Warriors postseason to an end on Friday May 12 at 7:00PM PT.
