While it has been reported in a number of places that J.J. Redick is the most likely candidate to become head coach of the Los Angeles Lakers, ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski reports they are “nowhere close” to a decision.
Some reports have suggested that ESPN doesn’t want Redick announced as the next head coach of the Lakers until after The Finals due to his duties broadcasting the series.
The Lakers hosted James Borrego for a second interview this week and plan to have follow-ups with several other candidates.
Chris Quinn, Micah Nori, Sean Sweeney and David Adelman are among the other candidates publicly linked to the job.
The Lakers parted ways with Darvin Ham this offseason.
