The Atlanta Hawks appear determined to trade Dejounte Murray by the deadline and he’s been discussed in a number of scenarios already.
The Los Angeles Lakers, New York Knicks, Philadelphia 76ers, Miami Heat and Detroit Pistons are five teams expected to engage the Hawks on a trade for Murray leading to the deadline.
While the San Antonio Spurs have been mentioned as a potential landing spot for Murray, they do not currently have the types of pieces Atlanta is believed to be looking for in a deal. The Brooklyn Nets don’t appear to be actively pursuing Murray.
Murray signed a four-year, $114 million extension last offseason, which begins ahead of the 24-25 season.
Murray’s contract is considered a good one in the NBA’s new second apron environment.
