The Lakers and Heat have been ruled out as potential sign-and-trade destinations for Christian Wood. Marc Stein’s recent insights on Substack shed light on the matter, dispelling any hopes of Wood making a move to either of these teams through a sign-and-trade deal.
Stein reported that despite the Lakers’ interest in Wood, they are limited to offering him only the league’s veteran minimum due to their financial constraints, as they have recently secured a contract extension with Anthony Davis.
During the 2022-23 season, Christian Wood averaged 16.6 points, 7.3 rebounds, and 1.8 assists in 25.9 minutes per game for the Mavericks.
