Darvin Ham began his head coaching career by accepting the Lakers job. The former NBA champion as player and as an assistant coach is excited to start working with the team.
“I’m so ready for this challenge, man,” Ham said on SiriusXM NBA Radio. “I’m so ready to shut people up. I’m so ready to get busy. They’re gonna have so much fun. We’re going to work hard, we’re going to put in work, but we’re also going to have a lot of fun along this journey, man.
“They guys, just to hear excitement in their voices. We just have conversations. They’ve all seen the type of basketball in Atlanta, in Milwaukee with me being with coach Bud [Mike Budenholzer]. It’s appealing style of play.
“I’m just thrilled, I’m excited that I get to coach three first-ballot Hall of Famers and a bunch of very highly talented young players. Work with championship GM in Rob Pelinka and get to build a great, healthy roster with him, a versatile roster. And work for one of the most storied franchises in the world, not just the NBA.”
