The Los Angeles Lakers will keep moving on without the presence of a longtime official.
Judy Seto, a notable figure in the Lakers’ training staff, is reportedly no longer with the franchise. Per Los Angeles Times’ Dan Woike, Seto’s contract has reached its expiration.
In 2019, Seto was appointed as the Lakers’ team director of sports performance. She started her job with the Lakers in the 1990s as a consultant. After that, she moved as the team’s head physical therapist, helping the late great Kobe Bryant from 2011 to 2016.
Both Seto and Bryant developed a great working relationship, as the basketball legend even credited her for maintaining his health and wellness.
After harnessing hype and expectations, the LeBron James, Anthony Davis, and Russell Westbrook-led Lakers eventually endured a horrendous 2021-2022 season and reached the finish line limping. Due to injuries, poor roster construction, and lack of gelling amongst their cagers, the ball club disappointingly failed to advance in the postseason for the second time in four years.
Los Angeles initially parted ways with their head coach, Frank Vogel, at the end of their lowly campaign. So far, there are plenty of names being rumored to take over the coaching helm, such as Quin Snyder of the Utah Jazz, Philadelphia 76ers’ Doc Rivers, and broadcaster Mark Jackson.
