Kyrie Irving was initially suspended by the Brooklyn Nets for a minimum five games and he has now remained out for seven games and will miss his eighth when the team wraps their west coast road trip at the Portland Trail Blazers.
“I’m told Kyrie Irving has made progress,” said Adrian Wojnarowski on Wednesday morning. “There’s a list of things, essentially, he had to check the boxes on to be able to return, to get approval from the Nets, the NBA. I’m told he’s made progress on that.
“I think once the Nets get off this road trip and head back east, you start to look at more of a timetable for a Kyrie Irving return. But I do think he’ll be back with this team and it will be in the relatively near future.”
Brooklyn reportedly gave Irving a list of six things he had to complete before he would be reinstated.
Irving has averaged 26.9 points, 5.1 rebounds and 5.1 assists in 39.6 minutes before game this season.
