The Washington Wizards are increasingly likely to keep forward Kyle Kuzma through the trade deadline. Part of what’s driving that decision is Kuzma’s desire to stay in Washington.
The Wizards set a high asking price for Kuzma in trade talks. They value his scoring and versatility. Washington also re-signed the 28-year-old forward to a four-year, $90 million deal this past offseason.
Kuzma’s contract is part of the reason rival teams covet him in trade discussions. Kuzma’s deal is for $25.6 million this season, but declines in value each year, ending at $19.4 million in 2026-27.
