Kostas Sloukas’ late layup secured Panathinaikos Athens’ win over Anadolu Efes in the Pavlos Giannakopoulos preseason tournament final.
Sloukas’ basket, with just 12 seconds remaining, broke the tie and gave Panathinaikos the victory. Despite Efes’ comeback from a 62-53 deficit to tie the game at 63, Sloukas’ decisive play made the difference.
Efes briefly took the lead with 41 seconds left, thanks to Elijah Bryant’s free throws, but Sloukas’ clutch layup sealed the win. The game ended with Efes in second place.
Sloukas scored nine points, while Mathias Lessort had 21 points, and Kyle Guy added 13. Shane Larkin and Will Clyburn contributed 14 and 13 points, respectively, for Efes.
