Kevin Durant and Steph Curry are teammates again for the first time since 2019 and it seems as though the pair are loving every minute.
It’s only fitting that in the twilight of their careers the Durant and Curry have reunited to bring glory to Team USA, on one of the most talented basketball teams in Olympic history.
KD was the peanut butter to Steph’s jelly when they played on the Warriors together, winning historic back-to-back championships in 2017 and 2018.
The Warriors’ roster assembled at that time and what they managed to do, means they’ll go down as one of the most dominant sporting teams ever.
So of course, Durant and Curry have been reminiscing on those good times, KD says.
“We definitely, definitely, definitely did talk about some good times that we had together,” Durant told Andscape’s Marc J. Spears. “[Curry is] just an incredible human being. [I’m] getting to spend some time with him on a deeper level. I’m looking forward to getting to know these dudes on a deeper level already.”
It’s clear that Curry is loving the trip down memory lane also, since he told the San Francisco Chronicle’s Ron Kroichick that he has enjoyed ‘rekindling old flames’ with his former running mate.
“That’s the beauty of this experience — rekindling some old flames with KD, playing with guys I’ve never played with before,” Curry told Kroichick. “I’m having the time of my life and enjoying every minute of it.”
With Durant, Curry, as well as LeBron James coming to the end of their careers, it may well be the last time we see the trio play at an Olympic level.
Although, the 2028 Olympic Games are in Los Angeles, so you can’t discount LeBron being there.
