Kevin Durant has responded to Anthony Edward’s viral celebration during Game 3 of the Phoenix Suns’ first-round series against the Minnesota Timberwolves.
Edwards’ antics occurred when the Timberwolves were up 118-99 with 2:54 remaining in the fourth quarter, just moments away from taking a commanding 3-0 series lead.
“You win the game, do whatever you want,” Durant said the following day.
It’s been a hugely disappointing postseason for Phoenix, who had high expectations for the year thanks to having three-star players on their roster.
Instead, they now find themselves down 3-0 and staring at a very early playoff exit.
Durant said he didn’t sleep at all following Game 3. When he was asked if the lack of sleep was largely because of the loss, he said, “That’s from life itself.”
He continued to offer blunt responses throughout his media availability:
Why haven’t the Suns been able to sustain good stretches?
Kevin Durant: “I don’t know, I wish I had a better answer for you.”
What areas led to Game 3 getting out of hand?
“All of ‘em.”
Is the spiraling due to lack of familiarity?

Clearly frustration levels are running extremely high in Phoenix. Unless the Suns can become the first team to ever come back from 3-0 deficit, they will be merely playing for pride from here on out.
Barring a miracle, a difficult summer lies ahead in Phoenix, with the Suns needing to seriously question whether they want to stick with their superstar core of Durant, Devin Booker and Bradley Beal, or shake things up via the trade market.
All three players are under contract for next season and will be owed a combined 149.4 million next season, which is more than 14 entire NBA teams each currently have committed in total payroll for 2024-25.
