Former NBA player turned analyst Kendrick Perkins does not believe that LeBron James can lead the Lakers to a title in his 21st year in the league.
“I don’t,” Perk said when asked on First Take if he believes that James can lead the Purple and Gold to a championship. “Not because I don’t believe in LeBron James. Look, I think he’s the greatest player of all time. We can debate that another day. I’m standing on it ten toes down.
“When it comes down to putting expectations on a that’s going to be 39-years-old in December, I just can’t do that. Especially when he’s playing alongside a guy that is in his prime a top 5 talent in Anthony Davis. This shouldn’t be on LeBron James. Now, should LeBron James be the second option? Absolutely. But this Laker team is going to go as far as Anthony Davis can carry them.”
