Kemba Walker and the New York Knicks have agreed that he will remain out for the remainder of the season, which will allow him to work out in preparation of the 22-23 season. With Walker on an expiring deal in the offseason, the Knicks and agent Jeff Schwartz will work on trade scenarios.
Walker signed a two-year deal with the Knicks in the offseason.
Tom Thibodeau dropped Walker from the Knicks’ playing rotation in mid-November, after he averaged 11.7 points in the team’s first 18 games. Walker returned in December following injuries and COVID-19 absences.
Walker moved in and out of the Knicks’ lineup with knee soreness in January.
