Portland Trail Blazers’ center Jusuf Nurkic has been ruled out for at least one month with left foot plantar fasciitis, per the team.
The Trail Blazers also said that Nurkic has “played through symptoms of plantar fasciitis since September,” per NBA.com.
Plantar fasciitis is an absolutely debilitating injury for NBA players as it “causes stabbing pain” from the heel bone to the toes, per the Mayo Clinic.
In the past, players have missed significant time rehabbing from plantar fasciitis.
Nurkic, 27, is averaging 15.0 points, 11.rebounds, and 2.8 assists on 54%/27%/69% shooting splits this season.
The big-man from Bosnia and Herzegovina is listed by ESPN at 6′ 11″, 290 lbs, putting him at high-risk for complications from plantar fasciitis.
Of course, most every NBA player is at high risk for complications from plantar fasciitis due to their size.
Hopefully, Nurkic will be able to return to the court soon.
