The Philippine nation is loud and proud, as two NBA prolific cagers with Filipino descent have finally shared a court for the first time ever.
It was a historic Filipino Heritage Night, as Utah Jazz’ reigning Sixth-man of the Year Jordan Clarkson and Houston Rockets’ rising sensation Jalen Green shared a Pinoy moment in basketball’s prominent stage. As such, the Jazz remained supreme via 122-91 wire-to-wire dub against the Rockets.
Clarkson, who had 16 markers on the winning effort, said that it was a great experience for him and Green, and he hopes that they will pave the way for those who have Filipino blood to enter the NBA.
“It’s an amazing experience because this is something that can never be done again because we [Green and I] were the first [to do it] and hopefully we see more come to the league.”
Meanwhile Green said that he truly appreciates the support he is receiving amongst the local fans.
“To come out here and play the game I love, just having the Filipino country on my back, I’m always grateful.”
