Atlanta Hawks forward John Collins has entered the NBA’s health and safety protocols. Unless Collins returns two negative tests at least 24 hours apart, he’ll be out for at least 10 days.
The NBA and NBPA are negotiating to reduce the time in the protocols to six days (from 10 days) for asymptomatic and vaccinated players.
Collins is the only Hawk to play in all 32 of the team’s games this season. He’s averaged 17.6 points, 7.9 rebounds and 1.2 blocks per game this season.
Atlanta forward Jalen Johnson was also placed in the protocols. The addition of Collins and Johnson gives the Hawks 10 players currently in the protocols.
