Philadelphia 76ers superstar Joel Embiid looks determined to close out their first round series against the Toronto Raptors.

Chris Haynes of Yahoo! Sports has reported that Embiid is targeting to suit up in Game 4 amid his right thumb injury. Yet, once the Sixers fly back to Philly, the big man will reportedly seek an MRI test.

Recently, the 76ers developed an anxiety regarding Embiid’s availability. Per Ramona Shelburne and Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN, the center is experiencing pain and discomfort in his right thumb. On the other hand, The Athletic’s Shams Charania has provided that there are initial fears about a possible torn ligament in the said finger.

While these are truly bothersome for the side of the Sixers, Embiid still made a promise that he’ll endure the pain to power his ball club for a deeper postseason run.

Embiid’s monstrous performances propelled Philadelphia to a commanding 3-0 series lead over Toronto, as he is averaging 27.7 points, 13.0 boards, 2.0 assists in 62 percent true shooting %. He knocked down a miraculous three-pointer to give his squad a Game 3 win within the overwhelmed Scotiabank Arena.

As he is literally a force down low, Embiid’s injury history has been concerning all throughout his career. Still, both the franchise and the MVP candidate has to be cautious of what might happen in this unpredictable postseason even marred now by plenty of key injuries.
