Joe Mazzulla will likely serve as interim head coach of the Boston Celtics during the upcoming suspension of Ime Udoka.
Mazzulla, 34, joined the Celtics as an assistant coach in 2019. Mazzulla played collegiately for West Virginia and immediately went into coaching in 2011 when his playing career was over.
Udoka could be suspended for as long as the entire 22-23 season due to an improper relationship with a member of the team staff that has been deemed a violation of the Celtics’ code of conduct.
Udoka was hired by the Celtics as head coach during the 2021 offseason.
