Jayson Tatum finished with 46 points as the Boston Celtics beat the Milwaukee Bucks 108-95 in Game 6 of the Eastern Conference semifinals.
Tatum, who scored 16 points in the fourth quarter, credited the Celtics’ belief after a close Game 5 loss.
“We were upbeat. We weren’t defeated. Knowing that we still had an opportunity to save our season to come in here and get a win. We believed that. We truly did. We believe in each other and I think it showed tonight,” said Tatum.
Tatum, Marcus Smart, and Jaylen Brown scored 89 out of the team’s 108 points. Smart added that Tatum’s performance showed why the team leans on him in big games.
“That’s why he gets paid the big bucks,” said Smart. “That’s it right there. For moments like that. I was telling him the whole game, just be you man. He was. That’s what he gets paid to do. That’s what we that’s what we lean on him to do.”
Game 7 is scheduled for Sunday at TD Garden.
The road team has won four out of six games in the series, including the last three in a row.
