Golden State Warriors center James Wiseman has suffered a setback in his return to the lineup. Wiseman missed the last two Warriors practices and won’t play for Santa Cruz of the G League on Sunday, as was planned.
Wiseman played in three games for Santa Cruz in the past week. Following the third game, the second-year center experienced swelling in his right knee.
This is the latest in a series of setbacks for Wiseman that have kept him out for the entire NBA season. Each time Wiseman has ramped up his activity, he’s had pain or swelling and had to back off. With just 12 games remaining in the Warriors season, it’s increasingly likely Wiseman won’t play for Golden State this season.
