Orlando Magic head coach Jamahl Mosley spoke very highly of the way that Paolo Banchero passes/beats double teams following this past weekend’s 111-99 road win vs. the Detroit Pistons (7 assists).
(via Orlando Magic):
“It really is special. He knows when the double teams are coming. He knows the situations that he sees. And the great part about this young man is that he’s recognizing it early. So it turns into a bit of a chess match, when and where. They were double teaming early right off the passer at times. And then they went from the baseline a few times. They went from the nail a couple times. So his ability to recognize it in those moments, and he & Franz just have a great level of communication. I thought J. Suggs did a great job on the backend of spacing the floor the right way, knowing he’s able to sit down and knock down shots. So his ability to find guys is really truly a special gift that he has.”
