Detroit Pistons big man Jalen Duren talked about his improved footwork after yesterday’s 120-104 home win vs. the Oklahoma City Thunder (22 points/career-high 21 rebounds/6 assists/1 block/9-13 FG/4-5 FT).

Reporter: “Your footwork… you had it coming into the league, but it feels like it’s just taking another step this year. Just the patience you have around the rim… does that come with experience not wanting to rush shots knowing that you have now this kind of skillset in your bag to be able to turn maybe a good shot into a better shot?”
Duren: “Yeah, it’s exactly that. I feel like the game is slowing down for me tremendously each game. Me studying the game, learning the game. And like I always say, just learning how I can be the most effective. So, I would say the game is just slowing down for me. I had footwork, but I’ll be lying if I said I haven’t continued to develop it with the coaches and the guys that we’ve been around. So, they’ve also been a huge help for my game.”
