Jakob Poeltl, Jeremy Sochan and Zach Collins have prematurely left the San Antonio Spurs’ 143-138 loss against the Los Angeles Lakers on Saturday.
Poeltl left the floor in the second quarter after a thunderous dunk in transition. He was ruled unavailable to return due to a right quad contusion. For his part, Sochan also sustained the same injury back in the second period.
Meanwhile, Collins took a needed exit after being assessed for a Flagrant Foul 2 upon his elbow against Russell Westbrook in the second half. The action committed by the big man streamed some blood down the forehead of the veteran guard.
Poeltl finished the match with 12 points and nine boards in 10 minutes, with Sochan contributing with five markers and three assists. Prior to his ejection, Collins had 12 points, eight boards and two dimes in 19 minutes of play.
Their untimely exit served as a huge blow for the Spurs, who still managed to make it a close one until the last buzzer against the Lakers.
