Other than fulfilling the contract extension he hammered with the New York Knicks, RJ Barrett is very much ecstatic to share the team’s backcourt with Jalen Brunson for the next season.
Barrett fully believes that Brunson has solid tools to consider, as both of them will complement and play well with each other as he claimed.
“Jalen’s great,’’ Barrett said about his sentiments on Brunson, per New York Post’s Marc Berman. “A really hard worker. He works on his game a lot. He has a natural leadership ability too. Being around him, I’ve gotten to gravitate toward him. When we’re together, we’ll play well, especially with us both lefties.’’
After a wonderful breakout season as a member of the Dallas Mavericks, Brunson capitalized the growth of his value, inked a four-year, $104 million as an unrestricted free-agent to go to New York this offseason.
Upon his departure, the said deal gives him a special opportunity to run the show in the garden. As a combo guard, he’ll be paired up with Barrett, as the two of them are set to carry the major responsibility of trying to lead the Knicks to be back in postseason contention.
It may seem daunting because the Eastern Conference gets even more competitive, but New York stands high spirited that they’ll be able to overcome challenges with their newest core intact to them.
With a combo of Brunson and Barrett and committing with them for years to come, the Knicks are determined that they can fly higher and reach greater heights.
