Immanuel Quickley has emerged as a key rotation contributor for the New York Knicks. He nearly won the Sixth Man of the Year last season. That would seemingly have Quickley in line for a big rookie scale contract extension, but the fourth-year guard isn’t focused on that right now.
“That’s where my faith comes in,” Quickley said. “Really all up to God. I’m not going to lie, I’ve been fortunate to not even be worrying about it. It goes days, sometimes weeks, where I just forget about all that stuff. Unless somebody reminds me. So just coming in everyday and trying to get better is my main focus.”
The Knicks and Quickley have through October 23 to come to an agreement on an extension. If no extension is signed, New York can make Quickley a restricted free agent in the summer of 2024.
