What to Know
The Penn State Nittany Lions have enjoyed the comforts of home their last three games, but now they must head out on the road. Penn State and the #19 Michigan State Spartans will face off in a Big Ten battle at 2 p.m. ET on Saturday at Jack Breslin Student Events Center. The Nittany Lions have some work to do to even out the 2-7 series between these two since January of 2016, but a win here would be a good start.
Penn State made easy work of the Wagner Seahawks on Wednesday and carried off a 74-54 win. Penn State relied on the efforts of guard Sam Sessoms, who had 16 points and five assists, and guard Jalen Pickett, who had 16 points. Sessoms’ performance made up for a slower matchup against the Ohio State Buckeyes on Sunday.
Meanwhile, MSU beat the Minnesota Golden Gophers 75-67 on Wednesday. MSU can attribute much of their success to forward Gabe Brown, who had 15 points along with eight boards, and forward Malik Hall, who had 15 points in addition to nine rebounds.
The wins brought the Nittany Lions up to 5-4 and the Spartans to 8-2. Penn State is 1-3 after wins this season, MSU 6-1.
