The Charlotte Hornets are interviewing longtime NBA assistant coach Jay Larranaga for their head coach opening. Current Hornets coach Steve Clifford will transition into a front office role after the season.
Larranaga is currently an assistant on Ty Lue’s staff with the LA Clippers. Larranaga is completing his third year on Lue’s staff in LA.
Prior to joining the Clippers, Larranaga was an assistant coach with the Boston Celtics for nine seasons. He started as a part of Doc Rivers staff, before staying on when Brad Stevens was hired as Boston’s head coach.
