After a gut-wrenching loss against the Phoenix Suns, they dropped their two-straight road games against the rebuilding Oklahoma City Thunder, and was trashed eventually by the New Orleans Pelicans on Sunday in front of the disappointed Crypto.com Arena faithful.

That’s way too much for a team that contains championship aspirations, and George made it sure to finally hammer a statement win to erase any swirling doubts.

On the other side, he ensured a clutch defensive stop and stole the ball away from Eric Gordon’s possession. And after the timeout by Ty Lue, the bright lights didn’t fail to choose George for the clutch play of the game.

George drained the go-ahead jumper that sealed the Clippers’ third win of the season, giving himself a 35-point night. And in postgame, he can only assure to take the challenge of leading the team with Kawhi Leonard still recovering from his knee soreness.

“I take full responsibility for us and our record right now, not getting off to the starts,” George said, via ClutchPoints’ Tomer Azarly. “Regardless, like I have been saying, regardless of who is in the lineup, who’s not, I am more than capable of going out and performing and willing our team to wins.”

The Clippers will look to flex out their wins as they face again the young Rockets team in Houston on Wednesday.
