The Atlanta Hawks are poised to be one of the more active teams this summer. They’ve put everyone but Trae Young and De’Andre Hunter on the trade market. The Hawks are also reportedly looking at moving up in the 2022 NBA Draft too.
Atlanta and the Portland Trail Blazers have had discussions on a trade where the Hawks would acquire the seventh overall pick in the draft. If the Hawks did move up, they might have their eyes on drafting G League Ignite guard Dyson Daniels.
Daniels would give Atlanta the ideal blend of playmaking and size alongside Young in the backcourt. Portland is known to be considering a quick retool of their roster around Damian Lillard. That means adding win-now talent vs a developmental player in the draft might be appealing to the Blazers.
