The Milwaukee Bucks made a significant move in the offseason by acquiring Damian Lillard, and former NBA star Gilbert Arenas believes it’s a perfect fit for the team.
During an episode of “Gil’s Arena,” Arenas shared his thoughts on Lillard’s arrival in Milwaukee, saying, “I think it’s a great fit.” He highlighted the synergy between Lillard’s scoring ability and Giannis Antetokounmpo’s athleticism.
“When you are a scoring guard that can shoot the hell out of the ball, having a big that can roll and dunk, they can’t hard show, they can’t lag, they can’t go under, they have to always follow you,” Arenas explained.
He drew a comparison to the dynamic duo of Steve Nash and Amar’e Stoudemire, emphasizing Lillard’s proficiency in creating points off the pick and roll and Giannis’s dominance in points in the paint.
“That was the Steve Nash/Amar’e situation. Dame is was number in creating points off the pick and roll. Giannis was number one in points in the paint. So you have a hell of a combo right there,” Arenas said.
