Say hello to our newest CelticsBlogger, Ian Inangelo! We just published his first piece on Jrue Holiday’s Hall of Fame candidacy and you can find him on Twitter at @iinangelo. Here’s a little about Ian in his own words?
Q: What got you into basketball and the Celtics?
A: What got me into basketball and the Celtics as a whole was when in 2014 my dad took me to my first ever Celtics game. They played the Mavericks and even though they lost I was immediately hooked on wanting to know everything about the Celtics and the NBA as a whole. But the 2016-17 Celtics team made me a diehard fan for life because of Isaiah Thomas. Isaiah Thomas was dominating the league at only 5’9” and leading the Celtics to the number 1 seed in the East. Just something I don’t think we will ever see again and it made me love being a Celtics fan.
Q: What are your strengths and/or favorite topics as a writer?
A: I feel like my strengths as a writer is storytelling and being able to keep a reader engaged in my writing. My favorite topics are being able to tell stories that not a lot of people have heard about before as well as anything that happens with the Celtics on a game to game basis.
Q: What is your bold prediction for the coming season?
A: My bold prediction for this season is the Celtics will have three all stars this season: Jayson Tatum, Jaylen Brown, and Derrick White. I think White is going to establish himself as the legitimate third star on the team and play his way into an All Star spot. With Porzingis missing the start of the season everyone is going to have to take a bigger role offensively and I think Derrick White could make a leap to where he’s not only elite defensively but also putting up the numbers offensively that will make him into one of the top guards in the East.
