Injury-plagued Fenerbahce Beko Istanbul added another piece to its backcourt by signing guard Markel Starks for the remainder of the season. Starks (1.86 meters, 30 years old) arrives from BC Igokea of Bosnia and Herzegovina, where he has averaged 10.2 points on 45.2% three-point shooting, 5.6 assists and 2.1 rebounds in the ABA League as well as averaging 12.7 points and 6.8 assists in the Basketball Champions League this season. The veteran guard started his professional career with Ferentino in the Italian second division and has also played for Vanoli in Italy. Cairns Taipans in Australia, Fraport Skyliners in Germany, Korivos Amaliadas in Greece, Yalova in Turkey, Stelmet Zielona Gora in Poland and Avtodor Saratov in Russia. Starks is now set to make his Turkish Airlines EuroLeague debut.
